Thursday Night Live By: Mackenzie
I was up on stage with a few butterflies inside, but ready to go, and ready to shine. In my opinion, Thursday Night Live is a great way to be interactive, have fun, and laugh with your peers. Not only do you get to create a skit within your field group, but you also get to perform it to an audience.
Many of you may not know what Thursday Night Live is. Basically, it is a remake of a television show called Saturday Night Live. Groups come up with a small, funny, creative skit, which is then performed it in front of an audience. Creating the skit was one of the most fun parts. The possibilities were unlimited, your imagination is able to run wild for those that are creative. On the other hand if you are more like me and like to act, you can have an amazing time on stage. Just imagine the joy of being on stage, your friends laughing at you, the feeling is indescribable.
My groups skit was about a play. It showed three takes on one scene. The first take was like a normal play. Then the director yells cut and comes in and says that he wants it western style. The director keeps saying that he wants crazier, and crazier things. Finally when the play is a catastrophe he says that it is absolutely perfect.
Not only do you get to perform, but you also get to watch your friends perform. Let me just tell you - this is hilarious. Seeing them make all sorts of crazy noises is AWESOME! Along with watching your friends perform, you get to watch your Nature's Classroom teachers making fools out of themselves on stage.
Thanks to the Nature's Classroom staff, Thursday Night Live was a great success. “Lights, camera, action.”
